About Manchester, CT - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Located in Hartford County, Manchester is a large Connecticut town with about 59,000 residents. Originally settled as a farming community in around 1672, Manchester was home to the first successful glasswork company in the state – the Pitkin Glassworks. The town was also the former center of the country’s silk industry until the mid-1900s. While there are several private schools available in the community, most students will graduate from Manchester High School, and higher education is available at Manchester Community College.
There are many interesting things to see and do in Manchester. The community the location of four museums, including the Fir Museum, the Lutz Children’s Museum, the Old Manchester Museum, and the Cheney Homestead Museum. Shopping is plentiful at The Shoppe at Buckland Hills and the Plaza at Buckland Hills, and outdoor recreational areas include Case Mountain and Wickham Park. Manchester is also home to many unique restaurants that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters, some of which include Mill on the River, Indigo Indian Bistro, and Burtons Grill and Bar.
To stay comfortable year-round, Manchester residents must invest in the proper climate controls. Found in a humid continental zone, weather conditions vary with the season, beginning with a snowy, cold winter. Temperatures reach the mid-30s for average daily highs, but overnight lows frequently fall below zero. When these frigid conditions couple with significant snowfall, a reliable furnace is a necessity at home.
Weather conditions are markedly different during Manchester area summers. Temperatures are hot and humid, with average daily highs in the mid-80s during July and August. High humidity levels will make it feel even warmer both indoors and outdoors, making it even more important to choose the right climate control system. The right central air conditioner will keep indoor temperatures cool while also decreasing humidity levels, or the amount of water found in circulating air.
